As your Deputy Secretary of State, I am honored to serve alongside Secretary of State Chris Nelson to lead our team. My 30 years of leadership experience from the private sector to state and local government have given me a unique perspective for addressing the needs of our office. I am using my abilities to develop business plans and budgets to respond to our critical needs during a time when funding is most difficult. I have worked with the business community across this nation and understand how to best support them so they can do what they do best, creating wealth that sustains freedom. I understand the vital role technology plays today and am using my experience in managing computer networks and custom software development to guide the automation programs currently underway.

Of all the responsibilities of the Secretary of State, being the Chief Election Officer is the most important. Our Republic depends on a foundation of free and fair elections. This can only be accomplished through trust of the procedures and the people who conduct elections. I work with Secretary Nelson every day to maintain the integrity of our elections.

I am the only candidate who has the knowledge and experience to bring continuity and to keep South Dakota as the recognized national leader for elections.
